JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

I can't seem to find any solid answers on this topic:

Can I fit the 255/75/17 JK tires on my stock WK with spacers and no lift? I'd prefer not to lift. I'd just like to know if this will work with other mods like cutting the bolt etc. Also, if it'll work, can I use 1.5" spacers?

Thanks for the help.

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

U will need a .25" spacer to make them fit

Should fit without a lift
I fit 18" sahara rims on mine without a lift but didn't feel comfortable with the lack of space so I got it lifted before installing the tires

you may rub the front pinch weld at full lock, other than that .25" spacers up front and your set

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

Thanks. Would it make things better, or worse, if I got bigger spacers. I'd like to get 1.5", but I want to make sure that doesn't further complicate things.

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

You do not need spacer.

You do not need a lift.

You will not rub the pinch if you do not use spacers.

You will hit the bolt though but I cut mine. It's up to you to cut yours. It's no big deal to cut it.

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

I forgot to mention that if you do not use spacers, I might have to slightly shave the front brake calipers. Only very slightly.

I will never recommend wheel spacers to anyone. Never.

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

no ur right
on the 05 and 06 i think they have a different caliper design
so u wont need spacers...i would need spacers for them to fit on my 08

i believe omelet is running them without spacers

forgot about that!

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

You should see Jeff's WK. He has Pintlers with 265/70's without a lift and I recommended that he left it alone.

His WK looks good that way; without the lift.

Re: JK Tires/Rims on 06 WK

Thanks again for all the answers. After weighing everything, I think I'm going to go without a lift. It's a daily driver, and I like the way it will look with the wheels filling up the space.

First, I plan to plati dip my new rims. I'll get some pics up as soon as I'm done.
