Lowering the jeep today what do i need ?

Hey sorry if this is a dumb question ....but i just recieved my springs today and wanted to lower the jeep myself ....do i need spring compressors?....or can i do it without.....thanks guys

right ....i have lowered a few cars ,some need them and some dont, if the answer takes to long i will just go rent them to be safe.....

I decided to wait a week until my sway bars and shocks come......i had it ready and said screw it i dont want to do the fronts twice and dont want to have an alignment done twice....but i will post some pics when it does happen

You will need a compressor for the fronts, 100% positive about that. There is no way to safely disassemble the strut and spring assembly without one.

The backs however can be swapped out without a compressor. Just be sure to disconnect the sway bar end links, both rear shocks from the rear axle and support the back of the body (jack stands) so the rear end hangs freely. That will give you enough drop on the rear axle to swap the springs out (one side at a time).

You can most definitely swap the fronts without a spring compressor. There isn't any tension on the spring.
