Hey sorry if this is a dumb question ....but i just recieved my springs today and wanted to lower the jeep myself ....do i need spring compressors?....or can i do it without.....thanks guys
my $.02....You dont NEED them, but if you dont have a good helper(I didnt) it might be easier. I ended up using a 2x4 and the handle from my floor jack to pry the LCA enough to get every thing out/in.
I decided to wait a week until my sway bars and shocks come......i had it ready and said screw it i dont want to do the fronts twice and dont want to have an alignment done twice....but i will post some pics when it does happen
You will need a compressor for the fronts, 100% positive about that. There is no way to safely disassemble the strut and spring assembly without one.
The backs however can be swapped out without a compressor. Just be sure to disconnect the sway bar end links, both rear shocks from the rear axle and support the back of the body (jack stands) so the rear end hangs freely. That will give you enough drop on the rear axle to swap the springs out (one side at a time).
