Lug nut caps

Hey guys, started platidipping my wheels this past weekend and i took them off, put them back on okay, but today noticed, one of the caps thats over the lugs is missing, i lost it somewhere out and about today, i was searching for new ones online, but cant seem to find them anywhere, i would hate to buy a whole new lug, $6 for one and $9 shipping, awful lot for that stinkin piece of plastic, any help?

Buy a set of locking lug nuts then you'll have 3 spares and made your wheels difficult to steal.

Think Outside !- No Box Required.

Re: Lug nut caps

As far as I know (and the way they are on mine), those aren't really caps on the lug nuts...the outer piece just breaks off from the inner piece.

You should be able to pick them up from the dealer for about $10 a piece, if you want to save on shipping.

I've had to replace about 7 or 8 over the life of my jeep.

Re: Lug nut caps

Thanks guys, I think your right dr.lee.baugh becuase it seems it only comes as a new lug, seems like pain though, im sure it wont be the last one to break, I did find them from an online dealer and i got thme for $2.44 a piece, only $4 shipping too, so not a tradgedy, probably shoulda ordered more than one though, thanks for the replies guys

Re: Lug nut caps

My son ( apprentice mechanic) says those caps corrode over time, especially here in Ontario due to winters and often will swell and break off during removal causing all kinds of grief. I will be switching over to solid lug nuts in the spring.

Yea, i would imagine if a little bit of water got in there it would have its way, especially with salt, I think i see solid in my future as well.
