Max Tire Size for Stock Wheels

Hey guys, I usually make one big change a year on my jeep, and this year, it's time to replace my tires.

I recently installed the RRO 2.5" BB lift, as well as some 1.5" wheel spacers, and I'm looking for the max size tire (mostly highway/street, but looking to start doing a fair amount of trail/mud riding and looking for extra grip and clearance) I can put on the stock rims with this new setup without having to make additional cuts or having extra rubbing. Right now the jeep looks a little goofy with the extra height from even the small lift and small/skinny tires (Nexen Roadian AT2 145/65/17r).

Any ideas for what I'm looking for?

Yes you should go with the 265/70/r17 or 265/65/r17 general grabber AT2 they are some really good tires most say they last awhile. If not that go with the Goodyear DUratrac 255/75/17 I personally like the taller tire 265 however I believe most people go with the 255/75/17 at first the go larger over time. hope this helps!!!!!!

Thanks that helps a lot! Is there a bunch of rubbing with the 265/70? Will I need to cut the upper control arm bolt since I have the spacers?

Re: Max Tire Size for Stock Wheels

With the spacers and the lift you should need to cut the bolt... I believe... I have a RC 2' with 265/70/17 no spacers. my stock tires were the 235/65/17 so I went a lot wider and the taller. so to be exact the 265/70/17 is a 31in tire the 255/75/17 is a 32' with that 32 you will need to cut the bolt. DO you have a 3.7 I do I went with the smaller tire because it would be less heavy since I really don't have much power honestly.

I did trim the bolt a very little just to be safe and I meant shouldn't need to with your spacers and lift. cut the bolt just to be safe though wouldn't hurt!
