Put in your info and it will give you a list of shops that have GSP 9700 machines. Most of the time is dealers because they are an expensive piece of equipment, but maybe you will find an independent dealer in your area that has one and will help you out. I would do a rim run out on it to see if it is in tolerance. One of my wheels is so F'd up that even with the Road Force we did to it, I can only get it so good. It was my mistake not to do check the tolerance of the wheels prior to me mounting the tires. I won't make that mistake again. My wife googled their name to get their phone number and she said she found a bunch of complaints online regarding this very issue. Apparently they have alot to do as far as quality control for the product coming out of China. There really isn't any excuse to box a wheel that clearly is out of round and then expect a customer to pay to ship it back. Sure crap happens but this seems to be an ongoing problem for them. They need to make sure the Chinese factory has some sort of procedure in place to prevent this in the future.

Cheap prices only take you so far.

You are right, I or any customer should not have to check if the rim is round period the vendor should do this. I do think customer should check to make sure a rim fits there car. Well I went back to discount tire I talked with the manager about road force he told me that doing that on old tires would not give them good reading, So he said lets look to see if the rears are out of balanced they were 1oz out, Well he found that I only had weight on the inside but not on the outside back part of the rim. He said that they have done reps before and geting the weights right was key. I do not have the vibration in the rear and both rear rims were not out of round or bent. I think the first discount place f@#$Ked up the install and it took moving the tires 180 and getting the right balance. I hope I can move on and start saving up for my next mods.

Re: New SRT Reps Out of Round Problem?

I'm hoping my new set is all good. Since I ordered from OE wheels with a rim and tire package, they are supposed to use the Hunter Road Force balance so I would hope that if they found an issue with one they would grab another...Sucks you had to go through all that though.

Smile Re: New SRT Reps Out of Round Problem?

Well I went to this Custom wheel shop who had this Hunter 9700 machine. They did my balance on the Computer machine. I asked about the road force balance they said lets see how this computer balance does, If I want to do the Hi Speed on The Car Balance it is $60 dollars more .They are only ones in Atlanta that have the machine for that.
Here is a link about it. http://www.butlertire.com/services.asp
They also told me I got cupping on my tires. So I getting a aligment too at a different place they wanted to much for it. I paid $85 for the Hunter 9700 balance. I just want this to be over with.

Later

Arent Factory Reproductions and OE Wheels the same maker? So even Factory Reproduction wheels may have an issue?

yep. but have the rims been determined to be the problem? seems to me that it was the tire.

Re: New SRT Reps Out of Round Problem?

Well the place i went to said wheels looked fine I think when the tires were put on they were not installed right I did have one wheel out of round but all the wheels are not taking slot of weight so that is good. White choc just make sure you have them check your wheels first before putting on tires. Go to a place with the 9700 hunter. Had learned this first I would have done this and saved some money.

Re: New SRT Reps Out of Round Problem?

I had a similar probleem with mine, turned out there were 2 problems

1 was dat the new pirelli scorpion were not round, a good balancing machine fixed that finally
2 on the axle was a tiny rubber fitting piece from the original wheels which should be removed before fitting the reps(they don't need them!)this piece of rubber produces the wheel shimmy

Problem solved!!

Re: New SRT Reps Out of Round Problem?

Oke this going to be a challenge for me as a non native speaking member but I will give it a try....
When you remove your wheel and look closely at your wheel hub you will see a small rubber O-ring like washer on the center hub(about 2mm thick), the middle bulbious thing where youre wheel will slide over to allign your wheel to the hub on the standard rim it will fit in the center hole of the rim ( kind of like male/female). Initially I didn't notice this ring as wel but when you place your rep on the hub this little ring won't allow the wheel to fit snug to the hub, and will create a slight off set on the hub causing the wheel to wobble.
When I removed this ring of the center part of the hub my reps were now snug and tight on the hub, no wheel shimmy any more.
I hope this helps....
