Opinion req: OE replacement Bilstein vs SRT8 struts

'06 Hemi WK. One of my Mopar/Bilstein SRT8 struts puked all its oil.

The cost of one SRT replacement is the same as a pair of OE Bilsteins. Note that the OE replacements have the usual lifetime Bilstein warranty. The Mopar branded SRT struts have a 1 year warranty.

Have any of you folk driven BOTH versions of the Bilstein strut ?? Is the SRT strut much stiffer ?

btw, not amused a Mopar/Chrysler brand tag voids the usual Bilstein warranty. LOLZ. What a F'in joke.

Re: Opinion req: OE replacement Bilstein vs SRT8 struts

The SRT Bilstein is more of a sportier suspension (obviously) and it will drop your Jeep lower which means you should also buy the SRT Rear Bilsteins to even it out or your Jeep will look uneven.

Re: Opinion req: OE replacement Bilstein vs SRT8 struts

Thx Paul. I'm already sporting the SRT rears. Ya think the OE struts will lift the front end ? Dunno. I'm dropped 3/4" on the eibachs already. My concern was more the valving of the OE struts, and their performance at that height.

Re: Opinion req: OE replacement Bilstein vs SRT8 struts

Thx Scott. That's the feedback I was looking for. The SRT struts / eibach / addco bar combo is the bomb. Guess I'll take the plunge and replace the blown one.

pick a part has some good deals from time to time, but don't know that I would trust buying used shocks, $120 shipped is way overpriced for one used '06 rear shock IMO.

Re: Opinion req: OE replacement Bilstein vs SRT8 struts

yeah...I didnt look at pricing. Just saw them browsing. They are usually overpriced on ebay....but will take less if you call them. I got a complete set from them of 1000 mile shocks/struts 4 years ago for like $200.....LOL
