Possible to fit 285/70/17 with Daystar 2"??

I was looking around on some of the posts up here and saw the "pinch weld mod" on another wk with a 2" OME HD and 285/70/17..

(OME HD lift and 285/70R17 done!)

This got me thinking if it was possible to do with the 2" daystar lift I have, currently sitting on 265/70/17.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

You are going to need different rims (not stock WK rims).

I'd contact the guy in the post you referenced above.

Re: Possible to fit 285/70/17 with Daystar 2"??

i run the daystar and 255s.. i dont see 285s fitting unless you run a 1.25" wheel spacer at the least and address the front and rear pinch welds. even then im sure your flex will suck and you would prob want to run a bigger bumpstop- just incase you hit a nice size dip in the road, youll stuff em big time.

Re: Possible to fit 285/70/17 with Daystar 2"??

285's will fit without wheel spacers with no problem at all. Just pinch weld the front and done.

You need these wheels though. AEV Pintlers that were made for a JK Wrangler. Make sure you get the JK Pintlers for your WK for proper backspacing. I DO NOT recommend wheel spacers.

Re: Possible to fit 285/70/17 with Daystar 2"??

One more thing:

If 265/70's fit on a non lifted WK with Pintlers, then I'm sure 285/70's will fit on a BB 2" lift.

Just be careful if you go offload-I believe your flex "might" be limite up front

Re: Possible to fit 285/70/17 with Daystar 2"??

I was gonna do 285s as well but I got the 265 due to me off roading a lot! I'll still rub in the rear and if I had the extra width I'd be rubbing ALL day! If you wheel a lot don't do it, if you don't then go for it! Just MHO!

1.25" - 1.5" wheel spacers and pinch weld. Done

Re: Possible to fit 285/70/17 with Daystar 2"??

I had 1.5" spacers on my 255/70 with the 2" lift and I ended up pulling the spacers off after one of them had 2 bolts sheer off. Didn't even realize it until I had my back breaks done. Backspacing would help but those are some big tires.

Pinch weld...just another beautiful Chrysler design feature...
