Cool Question about NT420S tire Size on 22inch 05 Jeep

The tires I have on my 22 inch rims right now are 265/35R22 NT420S Nitto Tires. I have been sick of the rough ride and the fact that the sidewall is so small and the roads around where I live i can feel every bump and already have a few rims that are bent. I also have wheel adapters on them and they stick out some due to when i went from a 1997 jeep to a 2005 the lug pattern changed. I found a great deal on two tires on ebay today that were 285/40R22. Will these work on my vehicle? I hope they do because price was right and I bought them and I will probably put them on the rear and get some 265/40R22 for the front sometime. I seen a post in the forum a guy did that for a SRT jeep with those rims so i hope i have clearance I am sure I will especially for the rear wheels. I just wanted a lil more sidewall rubber in the summer. Please post if you know anything I have these Cruiser alloy 22 inch rims i think they are 600c they are rare and cannot find any specs online as most only went to 20 inch and they are out of business so i need to make sure my tires will work on these rims and they keep my wheels safe since the old sidwalls on the front were starting to crack after 4+ years of driving.

Thanks

Get them!!! i hate 265/40/r22 and it rides great. had them for almost 2 years and no bent wheels and the ride is pretty smooth. I have so much clearence and looks better because it fills the gap better

nooo!! lol i have the 265/40/r22 and i love them. they are by toyo and they look mean and they perform so well. They ride very smooth becvause they have a pretty thich sidewall. I can deffinatley recomment getting my tired. I didnt go with the 35's because i knew they would have a thinner sidewall and ride rougher.

Re: Question about NT420S tire Size on 22inch 05 Jeep

Now i got a problem with my esp traction control. I was driving along after i just changed the back tires for now and it would not go. I suspect the difference in tire size must be the issue. Front 265/35R22 Rear 285/40R22 . I am not sure if I should just buy new tires in the front to make 265/40/22 and then the traction control wont notice or what. I am very disapointed I wanted bigger tires in the back and then to upgrade the front later.

You cant have that big of a difference, you can easily blow out your transfer case driving like that

Re: Question about NT420S tire Size on 22inch 05 Jeep

I know i want to change the front ones larger soon to match or be almost the same.. My goal is to get the exact size all around but i scrwed up and got a great deal on some 285/40/22 tires for the back. I guess i will try a test and put one on the front and see if it will rub or if i can turn. So i need to find out if i need to buy 2 more 285/40 or if i have to find out what the biggest tire i can fit up front is mabey i can only fit a 265/40 or 275/40 idk im trying to browse through posts on here . I got wheel spacers all around so that helps atleast so width isnt to much of a problem just height might be

Re: Question about NT420S tire Size on 22inch 05 Jeep

So my question is basically to members rides with jeep 2005-2010 can you fit a 285/40/22 tire up front if not what is the biggest size. That will solve my issue i will match front to back. I will try and move my back rims to front tomorrow and see if it will turn and have enough room.
