Hi all
I have some vibration problem when i apply the brakes on the driver side and also in the steering wheel.
I gess it's a wraped rotor , correct me if im wrong .
What would you recomend to solve the problem ? What are the best rotor for replacement instead of OEM.
I was thinking Slotted DBA rotors to replace stock that will wrap in all case
I bought Centric rotors (plain, not slotted or drilled) and pads from TireRack. High quality products, better than OEM at very good prices. Been installed for about 50k, better braking than stock, with zero issues.
Powerstop makes very good kits. I put them on my Yukon and will be putting them on my Blazer very soon. The GC will be getting them when the time is right.
Hello jeeper from france,i would just go to your local parts store and ask for options. My store like napa.com(not sure if they will ship to france)will ofter to me good, better, best rotors
im in the same boat and I think when all is said and done ill end up with a plain face rotor from raybestos and a set of raybestos pads. my OEM rotors have lasted me... 80k+ with two pad swaps- but the fronts are warped and the amount of brake dust lately is ridiculous.
if youre looking for a slotted option- im looking at EBCs or powerslots with a decent ceramic pad like a raybestos or a wagner thermoquiet
FWIW, Centric is very high quality, a division of Stoptech, racing brakes. A good friend just replaced his Wilwood ultralight setup with Stoptech (Cobra race car) and the stopping difference is dramatic with zero fade.
the more I look and read through threads- ive made my mind up, going raybestos pads/rotors. blank rotors, no need here for the slotted or drilled. its a daily driver, not a race car.
For how cheap a new set of quality blanks are, and how long they last. I replace and do not resurface. MY OEM pads/rotors lasted 74k, then switched to Centric's. 40k later zero vibrations or issues, or brake dust or any noise.
Thank you all guys ? at the moment I don't have so many vibration in the steering wheel anymore so I'll let it until it shakes again and order some.
It's great to get several different inputs.
I didn't know that we could use non ventilated rotors like for the rear axle?
