Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

Can we please come to a consensus on this one!?!? For a stock non-srt wk that is upgrading their rotors and pads, what I'd the best option for daily driving and 20" wheels (if that matters)? Right now I am being told from a very trusted source dimpled and slotted premium r1 rotors and Wagner theroquiets....am I on the right track? Or do I go cross drilled only on the rotors? Or dimpled only? Interesting there are so many conflicting thoughts....

Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

I would do cross drilled only and exactly what I run.....slots are for racing from what Im told. They help to keep the rotor clean

Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

Looks like cross drilled it is?...is there tendencies for each? Ie like u said slotted for racing? Drilled for? Dimple? Thanks for your help Scott...keep in mind u have brembos I don't I'm keeping it similar...seems like that changes things? My dads amgs were drilled, same with the Carreras...so as long as r1's are $$ it looks like a done deal...please speak now or forever hold your peace haha

Well now that the secret is out I'm gonna have to say it.

I told him to have 3 shots of Jameson right before he does his brakes.

Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

That's true. I actually read that slotted rotors are useless.

Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

HAHA this thread is classic...such conflicting information

Shots of Jame-o? Check
$$ for pads/rotors? Check
Consensus on JG? Not possible

I now have to choose...since it seems both sides are standing firm. Decisions Decisions...this one is easy, just steal my dad's GTS and use those brakes on his car and burn the Jeep for insurance and have my dad report the GTS stolen, take the plates off and there you have it HAHAHA

Thanks for the info guys...I know which way to go

Re: Rotors and Pads - R1 or other??

I'm sold on the R1 drilled rotors, but what was your decision on pads? I'm looking for the same as you, daily driver with 20" wheels, something that will last and not drop a ton of brake dust.

Same here but with 32" tires. I also need pads that will not drop a lot of dust. Nothing ceramic though because the decrease rotor life.

But....I've heard that the dustier the pad....the better braking performance.
