Rubicon Wheels

i am looking into buying a set of 16x8 Rubicon wheels with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. does anyone know if they will fit my 2006 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 without any issues?

Re: Rubicon Wheels

These will not fit, your 2006 only takes 17s or bigger. You could get the Rubicon wheels off of a JK, and they will work I believe with no problems. A few members here have done the same combo at some point, so maybe they can chime in.

Re: Rubicon Wheels

our bolt pattern is also 5x5. if you get the correct ones you will still need to run 1/4" spacers to clear the front calipers.

Re: Rubicon Wheels

I had the JK wrangler 17s on my 05 Wk last winter. Needed 1/4" spacers up front to clear the brake calipers.

Re: Rubicon Wheels

Go to Quadratec.com. They sell Mamba wheels that are almost an exact copy of the rubicon wheel and available in 16x8 and 17x8 and both generations bolt patterns.

Re: Rubicon Wheels

When adding the JK moabs to the WK, is there any chance that the caliper can just be shaved, rather than adding spacers? I spoke with one shop about adding spacers, and they recommend shaving the calipers, instead of adding spacers, if possible.

Re: Rubicon Wheels

Its been done but i would not do it.

Just an FYI. The JK Rubicon wheels have a different offset and back spacing then the old 16" TJ rubicon wheels. The wheel is almost flat vs a nice dish that the tj wheel has. Personally after having them on my WK i put my stock wheels back on. I had TJ rubicon wheels on my old cherokee and they were sweet and i wanted the look for my WK but the new style 17" JK rubicon wheels just dont do it the same. Ive noticed alot of people including myself anf rivercitywk that put them on, like them for a bit then sell them because they just dont suite the WK as well.

I think if the 16" TJ wheel was able to fit it would be a totally different story. If i was going to lift my WK, Id use 1.5" wheel spacers/lug adapters (had them on my XJ with 315/75/16 (35x12.50)) Cooper Discoverer STTs. The offset from the wheel spacer would stop big tires from rubbing and the wheels would clear the brakes.

My Friend did that to fit TJ 15" Ravine wheels on a WJ.

Re: Rubicon Wheels

get them, you wont regret it. you can grind down the caliper just make sure you get some caliper paint and paint them. or run spacers and if you are worried about it, get some longer studs they should only be like a $1 or $2/each. here's mine powder coated black:
