Spacers necessary? 22x9 wheels w/ 275/45/22 tires

Hello all,

Figured I'd ask here where most of you have spacer insights.

I'm picking up a set of 22x9 wheels with a +35 offset.

Our factory wheels are 17x7.5 with a +50.8 offset.

Using this calculator, http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html it looks like The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 4mm LESS and The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 34mm.

Now stack that with a 275 series tire. Should I pick up a .5" spacer? Or should I be good? Im also adding Rusty's 2" lift.

It seems to me that you are trying to mix street and offroad together. usually people drop their Car when going with big rims, but youwant to lift it? I dont quite understand, but to each their owni guess.im running 22x9 with 265/40/22, i think i have a +30 offset. No problems at all

So do you think there is another 1.5" of total diameter clearance, and .4" width without a lift?

Re: Spacers necessary? 22x9 wheels w/ 275/45/22 tires

I would say so. Somewhere around 2-3 inchech in clearance and i could fit my pinky between the tire and the bolt, so its somewhere around .5” of space

Re: Spacers necessary? 22x9 wheels w/ 275/45/22 tires

You deff dont. We have members who are running 24” rims with a drop. So you are good. Dont waste your money on a lift, invest it in some lowering springs instead

Re: Spacers necessary? 22x9 wheels w/ 275/45/22 tires

Damn. Alright good thing I diddnt order the lift yet. Are spacers required to run a 275 series tire on a 22x9 with a 35 offset?

Re: Spacers necessary? 22x9 wheels w/ 275/45/22 tires

again.....NO. There are tons of Jeep here with 275, 265, 295, 285. The 22" reps fit perfect on the wk...no spacers, no lift...etc. use the tire calculator in the forums and keep your tire size around the same diameter as stock and youll be fine.

Re: Spacers necessary? 22x9 wheels w/ 275/45/22 tires

Thats just it - factory size is 245/60/18, which is 29.6" diameter, and my new tires are 275/45/22, which is 31.7" in diameter. 2" larger, which is why I needed atleast a 2" lift.

you need a 265-40, 275-40, 285-40-22. Are you the one wanting to use the tires from a ram? You have so many threads its hard to keep up....LOL
