Speed Sensor/ABS Light Question

After digging through the forums some to try and pinpoint a problem that's caused a noticeable drop in my 06 WK mpg, I came across this thread: Bad gas mileage. I had my ABS light come on for about a 15 mile stretch last week on the interstate (but noticed no immediate effect). I pulled into my shop as a precaution and turned off the vehicle and turned it back on-lights went off and haven't come back on. However, my fuel economy has dropped noticeably in the past week. I'm calculating it, not relying on the Jeep to do it. However, the Jeep MPG hasn't been reset in probably 2 years and has held steady at an average of ~18mpg but within the past week, it's already dropped down to 15.9 with no change in driving style, route, or type of driving (city vs highway).

Since my ABS light is no longer on, could a bad sensor be causing something similar to what is discussed in the linked thread above? I've also noticed what feels like a slight dragging of my brakes, which I think can also be tied to a faulty sensor? Before pulling wheels and checking, figured I'd make sure the correlation could still exist. Thanks in advance!
