Re: Speedometer Recalibration on WK 3.0 CRD

Speedometer variation between current tire size and the size i'd like to mount is not a little one (in my opinion)

245/60-R18 vs 245/75-R17 Tire Comparison - Tire Size Calculator

Furthermore, I think that such a difference will perturb ESP, and electronic management of the 4WD system

When I ask about spedo recalibration, ESP recalibration comes with...

obviously youre gonna do what you deem needed but 4 mph at 65 mph dosent seem like the end of the world to me. id still get the tires first than worry about the rest after a test drive

Do you know the hypertech speedo calibrator ? Is it easy to install, and reliable ?

Sorry I didn't see this till now. I do not have first hand experience with this product or brand. As far as ESP worries go, I doubt you'll have problems if you're upgrading to 245/75/17. It seems like people mostly have problems when they throw some 33's (285/70/17) or higher on. The speed will be off a little though. I plan to upgrade to the same size as you (or similar) and I probably won't recalibrate my speedo for awhile on my CRD because I don't see it as much of a problem. Just depends on how much it bothers you.

Re: Speedometer Recalibration on WK 3.0 CRD

In fact, if ESP et QudraDrive module work correctly even if wheel perimeter is modified, it will be fine for me.

In France, a lot of people upgrade wheels on Wrangler (all versions) and WJ, but not on WK. So I've no idea of eventual perturbation.

It's the reason I came here, just to have your opinion.

Thank you again for your help !!
