Staggered wheel spacers & 18rim backspacing
I'm trying to plan my lift. I'm starting with a SuperLift (and yes I know it will eventually evolve) for my WK diesel. My question for the group is "will my track width change (front vs rear)?" Also, is the front and rear the same track width?
Given the rear is a solid axle, it should not change with a lift. However, given the WK's have IFS will the front suspension sit at a different angle (for instance with more droop or down travel) therefore effectively shortening the track width? If so should I run a wider spacer in the front compared to the rear. I would think the front diff drop would keep it at the same angle, but I'm not sure.
Also, what size spacer (1.0, 1.25, 1.5 or 1.75") will line up the tire threads (not necessarily the sidewall) with the top of the fender?
Also, does anyone now if the 18" rims for the overland have the same backspacing at the 17" rims? I'm having the darnest time trying to get specs for these rims.
In case some of you are wondering, yes I'm an engineer and a bit anal about things.
