Re: Suggestions...unhappy after Wk shock/strut install

I just had the shocks replaced on my 05 GC 70k miles with Bilstein HD. I too was getting a clonk in the front but after the new ones it went away. A night and day difference compared to the stock, a little stiffer and about 3/4" higher but it holds the road a lot better and that feeling of going to topple over around a corner has gone. Cost about $300 for the shocks and $300 to install which included a four wheel computerized alignment.

Re: Suggestions...unhappy after Wk shock/strut install

OP, did you have the isolators and the strut mounts changed as well?
Does it clunk all the time ,or just going in/out of driveways?

Tighten the upper control arm bolts? Had the same thing after I did my OME lift.

Re: Suggestions...unhappy after Wk shock/strut install

so I had my car checked and gladly I didnt need to incur any other expenses. All it was causing the CLUNK was loose sway bar end links. Just some tightening. Now its a smooth ride.
