Question Suspension issue just had front struts done.

So what I am wondering is I just got my 2005 Jeep WK on Monday its now Wednesday and the deal was, the dealer had to replace the struts in the front end because the old ones were bad. They did the strut job on Monday the day I went to pick it up for the first time and about 1/2 hr after having it the drivers side front suspension every time you hit a small bump in the road makes a very noticeable thump sound and the larger bumps don't affected it. Any of you have any idea of what might be wrong now? At the same time they did the struts they had to put a new bushing in on one of the sides for the struts so I am thinking maybe bad mounting hardware or lose hardware? Any ideas?

Could be ball joints going bad if you pull the tire you should be able to inspect them. I've also seen were the sway bar link will go bad and hit the chassis on bumps.

Thanks, I called the place where I just bought it and they said to bring it in on Monday and they will take care of it. I hope they do cause it does sound like ball joint but it didn't start until after they put the new struts on it.

Re: Suspension issue just had front struts done.

Let them also have a look at the differential bushings, they tend to wear and cause noises.

Re: Suspension issue just had front struts done.

Probably worn front sway bar end links; the mounting holes get gouged out, and cause a clunk over bumps from the backlash. I am about to put on my 3rd set this weekend, as they go bad at about 35k. Rockauto has great prices on Moogs.
