After reading through the thread, I've noticed there are lots of different combinations that can be used. I don't know what the best is for my preferences, so I was hoping you guys could help me out.

I'm looking to upgrade the suspension on my vehicle and add a new set of tires. I didn't want to purchase the tires until I figured out the suspension... that way if the vehicle goes up or down, I can adjust tire size accordingly. I have an 06 Overland with the 5.7 and 4x4. I'm looking for a luxurious ride + great onroad handling ability. I'd also prefer to keep the ride height of the vehicle the same, but I'm willing to accept minimal change. My budget is unlimited. Can you guys help me out with a setup that'll meet my wants? Thanks in advance.
A luxurious ride and great handling; everyone would like this but...... lowering springs and stuff struts, srt sways, bwoodies etc. will provide much better handling, and also a much rougher riding vehicle on anything but smooth roads, and off roading is terrible on a lowered stiiff riding Jeep. I'm waiting for the new Koni FSD auto adjusting shocks which will be available in January for the WK through Tirerack.com. They are twice the cost of WK Bilsteins but according to reviewers on other forums are the best of both worlds; much smoother riding than Bilstien (or stock), with much improved steering, braking, and handling, and a lifetime warrantee.

Scott, thank you for the reply. I'm going to try and find somebody local with an upgraded suspension setup and see if I can ride along in their vehicle to see what it rides like.

I agree with you on the much better handling and worse luxuriousness feeling. The Bilsteins go on sports cars, so it doesn't seem like the way to go. I've heard Old Man Emu is the way to go for better on and off road performance and a more luxurious ride. I'll check out the Koni's you mentioned.

I also agree, and prefer a plush ride. Closest I've found so far is to ditch the rear anti-sway and install WK Eibach springs. I'm also interested in the Koni's when they're available, but I'm using the stock struts for now.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I plan on upgrading to SRT springs and WK Bilsteins over the winter. I was also planning on upgrading the sways at the same time. Will upgrading front and rear give me the best improvement in handling?

From Scott's part list on the first page, I am gathering that this is what I will need on a 2010 WK:

Front Sway Bar - Item # 52090154AG
2 Bushings - Item # 52090155AH

Rear Sway Bar - Item # 52124303AA
2 Bushings - Item # 52124302AC
2 sway bar mounting brackets-52090271AB

Does this look correct?

Also what would you guys expect to pay to have an indy shop install springs, bilsteins, front and rear sways?

Thanks!

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Hey guys,

I just picked up my new-to-me 2005 Grand Cherokee and I'm already loving it. Since I'm a newb here, I guess intros are in order. I've owned a couple Jeeps already... a 1996 Cherokee Sport (two-door) with the 5 speed manual which was a SUPER fun car and looked tuff as hell with the roof box and tubular grill guard etc. Loved it. The second was an 2006 commander Hemi limited, loaded and a blast as well.

This GC I just picked up is great, but at 57,000 miles rides a little sloppy and I want to tighten it up. Not worried about off-roading... but also don't want to drop her either. Would love to keep the about the same ride height but just tighten everything up a bit. From what I've read the WK Bilsteins are the way to go for me... and if it's not enough, I'll add in the rear sway bar later on.

My question is where's the best place to order the shocks/struts from? Any forum affiliated dealers offering a hook up? Let me know, I want to do this ASAP.

Thanks to everyone for their valuable and super helpful contributions here... I'm getting addicted to the forum!! Hope I can give back sometime soon.

- Asi (L.A., CA)

For ultimate handling on road, yes, both front and rear sways is more neutral, as with just the rear SRT sway, as I have, there is understeer. WIth those mods, it will handle and corner very well, but if you live where there are winter potholes, also realize the stock SRT suspension is much harsher riding than stock on rough roads, as verified by the auto magazines in their reviews.

I'm new here, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I see lots of you are using the srt frt sway. I have a '05 limited.well, I stopped and measured a '06 srt frt sway-both were 33mm, Is there something else different about them?

thanks for the reply. and yes i do live in northern nj where the roads get pretty nasty especially in the winter. will take that into consideration as well.

do you have any input on what to expect to pay for installation of all these components?
