Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

How much are the bumpstops cut by when Bwoodys or other short springs are installed?
Why I ask is I am trying to work out how much clearance above the upper wishbone I have to leave when installing the WK suspension in my Willys project.
Hoping I can have less than stock.
If people are cutting their bumpstops, then that would mean the upper wishbone would rise higher than normal wouldn't it? If I know they dont ever hit the inner guard, then I can at least reduce the clearance by as much they have been cut.
Does that make sense?

it really depends on the person and their personal priorities. Bwoodyprovides bumpstops that are shorter than stock...but not surte how much. Senf mike@bwoody a pm and see if he knows.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

If you want Scott's exact stance

Shocks - SRT8 bilsteins
Springs- Bwoody version 1
SRT 8 rear and front sway bar
Bwoody sway bar links all 4

this should take care of handling for now

Of course have to do the infamous SRT8 conversion too LOL

For wallet smart places just search on google and ebay for the best price that's what I did

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Does the SRT8 have different upper control arms since it sits lower? I'm assuming not otherwise I would have seen posts of people who lower their jeeps picking them up.

Also, if you replace the front struts do you need an alignment? I ask because it doesn't seem like you mess with anything that has to do with the alignment and I've read about people doing them in the garage and not mentioning taking it in for alignment.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

yes you will definitely have to take it in for an alignment and have the guys at the shop set it for the SRT8 specs to have it closer in range
