Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

i need some help figuring out whats popping in the front suspension. About 4 months ago i installes srt bilsteins and some bwoody springs. about a week ago i noticed ive developed a popping sound coming from the front suspension when whe wheel is turned in either direction.this is deffinatly not the banging noise you get when you max out the steering wheel...im leaning towards it being ball joints. I took it in to tires plus today and they assure me its not anything related to the suspension (like the know wtf theyre talking about anyway) none the less i cant for the life of me figure out what it s thats causeing this noise....any one know what im talking about or have any ideas?

I would put it on a lift and check it out. Before you do that...check the upper ball joints...check around the boots for grease or cuts.

Possibly sway bar link bushings? Steering mech.?

Get someone to turn the wheels while you get under there with the wheels on the ground and try to isolate the noise source, may be something in steering column etc. Also turning the steering while the vehicle is stopped puts tremendous strain on the steering / suspension components try on an alignment rack

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

So anyone with a 2" ....On my new acquisition I was told that my back 245's have less tread than my front, by 4/32, they have cupping all around, and my tread is at the treadwear indicator on the rears. I am anxious to get this corrected.

My plan is to install a 2" Rough Country lift with the largest tires possible (255/70/17?) with out rubbing, modification to the pinch weld or the bolt, and honestly no spacers. I have read this entire thread and everyone has different set ups, some have rub some don't. Its quite confusing for a newbie. Is there a difference (other than price) between the Rough Country and Rocky Road?

I am really diggin' the Destination AT's but also considering the Toyo Open Country's Bridgestone Revo 2's...and don't shoot me but the Falken Rocky Mountain's.

Any new advice? Pics? Thanks Everyone.

As far as the clearence goes, if you don't want to use spacers(seems to be common though) get wheels with a different offset.
