Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Had to make a decision on new shocks for an '06 Limited I bought with 49K miles on it. Way to bouncy for my tastes, especially compared to my '96 grand cherokee limited. Found this thread and decided to go with the HD Bilsteins for convenience of getting them quickly. Installed both front and backs myself following the instructions found on this website. Only additional suggestion, on the front struts when forcing the upper U-arm up to clear to top of the strut (removing or replacing); since the car was on jackstands, I just laid on my back and used my foot to force the arm up which easily provided enough clearance to both remove and reinstall the front struts.
End result - much improved ride and no bounciness so I'm a fan of the Bilsteins.
The OEM shocks were not leaking or showing other signs of distress so I guess they are just too weak for the WK Grand Cherokee.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I am really looking forward to what Chad is going to do...I am not going to get a new rig so I am going to upgrade the suspension...with the CO from chad, what would you recommend for the rear shocks? and I have the wk bwoody sway links with the srt sways...will I need to change the links to the srt bwoody's?

ok i feel a little dumb now. what about the rear springs? are chads going to be all four corners or only fronts? and from what I remember the CO will replace the front strut and spring, right?

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

the black Ops coilovers will be full replacements front/rear. The oem fronts are basically coilover struts and the rear is a shock with a perch mounted spring. You do not need the bwoody SRT links.....yours are fine

Scott, I'll be installing wk eibachs soon. I have the 275/45r20 size tires and I'm wondering if I would have to shave/cut the bolts. The bolt won't rub on the tire when it's lowered right?
