Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I just installed my bilsteins and I love them!!

Way better ride, of course the old ones were shot, and they gave it a little lift( although that wasn't what i was going for, nothing dramatic)

Handling has improved also!

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Hey guys. Iam comming from WJ, upcountry, AddcoF+R, EdelbrockIAS and 235/65/17 stock tyre size. This is perfect fit for my daily drive: mix of fast higway trips, urban jungle, harsh district roads and occasionally fireroad-rides i use for country trips.

Now, looking for my WK05 3.7 setup.
Based on this thread and other things i found on the web i suppose it equals to

shox: Koni FSD (for sure)
sprinx:WK eibach
linx: Bwoody
swaysR+F: not-sure (*001)
lift: daystar bb 2" (*002)

*001
any experience with the difference between Addco and SRT sways?

*002
The WKstock clearance is perfect for me. Wont drop! Usuay 2" daysar lift is too much cause of retarded look on stock tyres. While of engine/transmission combo i have, wont go to bigger tyres. With the WKEibach and daystarBB could be done re-leveling with results some 1"plus. (if iam not mistaken)

thanx for any coment to my ideas and questions.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

About to pull the trigger on a full SRT8 suspension. I would be installing OEM SRT8 bilsteins, springs, and front and rear sways.

I do a ton of highway driving and am just sick of the floaty feeling. I am looking for a firm but reasonably comfortable ride without being too harsh. I would also like it if all of my stuff didnt go flying off the seats when I go through some twisties lol, so I am looking for a more planted feel. Am I going to regret going with the SRT8 bilsteins instead of the standard WK Bilsteins?

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Can't comment on the SRT8 bilsteins (I have the WK set), but I would suggest going with a different set of springs. I have the SRT8 springs and while it might look a tad lower (since raised with WK bilsteins), I wish I would have paid the extra money and gotten the Eibach springs, or the other set that everyone runs on here (can't think of it). I would only suggest the SRT8 springs to someone with a stock suspension that wants a drop and a little stiffer. If your going to replace your whole suspension I would go with different springs. Just my opinion though.......

I went with wk bilsteins and wk eibachs...While its much better than before, i regret not getting the srt bilsteins constantly. IMO you will be very happy with the control of srt bilsteins.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Here are some spec's for those who are wondering.

My 05 came with a 33mm front bar and according to what I have found so far it is the same as the SRT. Does anyone have the spec's on the SRT front sway so I can be sure. Some Jeeps have the 30mm front bar. So check your bar before you buy.

I just got the SRT rear sway in and it is 20mm. The one currently on the back from the factory is 16mm.

I should also state that my 05 came from the factory with the towing package and trail rated.

It would be great if others could spec out the other sway bars and post up.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

my 05 came with a 33mm front bar as well. I used a caliper to check a 07 srt front sway bar and it was also 33mm. I never measured my rear bar but the addco that I replaced it with is 7/8" .

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I am picking up a 2009 jeep Srt8 tonight. Trading in my 10 limited for it, having said that i have a "grocery list' of upgrades for my new toy.i have read your suspension thread multiple times and was wondering if the bwoody springs would be the best choice.i am also ordering the 22'' replicas on vredestein tires with a 265/35/22 in the front with a 315/30/22 in the rear. My other two questions are, how hard is the install for the springs and secondly will i run into any problems w the tires if i get the bwoodys that only drop 1.3'' in the rear?

I know theres a lot there, im pumped to pick up this new ride and want to get started right away!
