On what suspension? And that's not really a question for this thread...

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

i installed the wk eibachs springs and wk bilstien shocks
and do not see any difference in the height if anything
now is a bit lifted very disapointed. I hope this helps
someone decide what they want and what to get

What's your mileage jr?

And what's the advertised drop from the eibachs?

The eibachs for the wk lower you 1.25 and 1.5.....but the wk bilsteins raise you about 3/8" of that.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

So you would basically only see a 1" drop from stock height. And based on your mileage, your OEM shocks spand struts may have already been at that height due to age and usage

Should have got different shocks and struts....

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Im at 113 right now. I wasnt expecting a total slam but just a bit lowered and i was shocked to see no difference at all. Can it be that the shocks/springs need to be used for a while before they settle in? Is there such thing?

Yes they will settle for sure. After each spring change I always flexed my suspension to the max and then would tighten every thing back down again. I would often see a change in minutes just doing that and more over the coming weeks/month. After that it would only see very little but found lots of full suspension usage in dunes at speed the first time would change it a bit.

show us some before and after pics.

I had the wk eibach kit in like 2007 and I could def. see the drop without measuring.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

To JR:
So I've done a bit of reading. I have concluded that the srt bilsteins are best for lowering springs and the wk hd bilsteins are meant to be OEM replacements for a stock coil. I've also read that when changing springs, replacing the foam insulators is a good idea, as the old coil will leave an impression that may, or may not, affect the seating of the new coil. I find spring sag to be unlikely, unless you have really punished the jeep, like driving on failed shocks for a few years and overworking the springs. Did your pigtails on the ends of the coils properly seat into the strut and insulators? Do the coils have a right and left?

For me: As a side note, I have also read the the lower control arm and steering knuckle of the SRT are different, stronger bushings and I'm sure the hub must mount so the car sits a bit lower (up to an inch by my guess). I am also very curious about the rear SRT end links. It seems to me that the stock ones are long and thin, making them too flexible. But the Bwoody end links go the other extreme, being thick and rigid which would only be good for the track or fresh pavement. Anyone have experience with installing the srt end links and the triangle mounting plates? Does it provide the happy medium of control and still take the bumps without slamming the car? Also, is it true that the front end links are the same for both srt and wk? I was looking at a catalogue online and it said: same.
