The spring and strut/shock work together to give you a nice ride. If one is incorrect the system is not going to work properly and your ride will suffer.
Do them as a package. Any package will fit any WK. Just keep it all SRT or all stock WK size.

I found some pictures during lunch and saw that the srt bilstein are shorter than the OEM shocks. And I like your explanation of spring preload as an affect on the shocks.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread
So today I test drove an SRT jeep to see how the suspension feels. Rather than speculate specs, seat of the pants feel is the best way to know what feels right. So this is my experience. I was really pleased with the ride and did not think is was stiff or bumpy. The GC soaks the bumps just fine while the suspension does it's job. There was no unnecessary sway or bouncyness that annoys me with the stock wk suspension. So I'm definitely saving my $$$ for SRT shocks, springs and sway bars. I'd like to thank everyone on this website for their shared experience and knowledge.

Smart Choice, cryco spent a lot of effort tuning it to work for the platform If you put the bumpers and rockers on it will look lower as well.
Look at my albums for photos, all pics there are stock suspension but look at the difference the wheels and then the front bumper made.
I'm having a clearance issue, front bumper to driveway ramp, and haven't installed my SRT suspension parts yet.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread
Can we have a sticky for lift related suspension questions, etc?? This is great, but doesn't apply to those of us who want to lift.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread
Two quick questions for folks who had done these mods.
I know the SRT front sway bar is the same thickness as the stock wk ft sway bar, but is the shape (the bends) exactly the same too?
Are the Bwoody swaybar links for the Non-srt wk exactly the same length as the stock wk links?
Thanks

Yes....same shape...but the wk sway is hollow and the srt is solid. The bwoody links are the same length unless u special order them longer.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread
the WK export front sway is the same as the SRT ( apparently the USA bar is hollow tube)
The Bwoodie links are stock length, but can be ordered any length you want

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread
anyone know the difference in length between the MLLs 643s, Bilsteins, and OME shocks?
Can you run a longer aftermarket shock in a stock OEM spring?

I did cut the front bumpstops in half and also cut the upper rear bumpstops. It rides like a dream even when towing a ski.

This is the stance I'm looking for I think. What size wheels and tires and how much lower than stock is this? sounds like the ride quality is pretty good too, true?
