Thanks for your input sir. Can't wait to get everything done. I just bought a black 05 WK 4.7l V8. Excited about murdering this thing out, I think the WK's look really nice lowered with 20''s.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I'm very pleased with my WK Bilsteins and OEM SRT8 Springs. Handles great and still keep the clearance needed for the winter months. Be sure to add at least the rear SRT8 swaybar. All this recommendation thanks to Scott!

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Ok thanks. Is there a place I can order all of this stuff from at once? I bought my Jeep from a private seller so I don't know if I could contact a dealership.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I apologize if I missed this in a previous post, but Monroe "Load Levelers" part #58643 are great for evening out those with a 2" lift where the front ends up a little higher. Sorry if this was mentioned already, I just didn't notice it at the beginning.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I looked through this thread best I could but couldnt come up with an answer. My 08 CRD has about 1" more fender gap than the front where my buddies 07 is only 0.5". Is this a common difference from 07 to 08? Do the gassers (V8) have this same rake?

If installing the standard Eibach springs, will the rake be reduced? (This would assume the 1.2" drop is based on the V8 which may or may not have as much rake as my CRD with a towing package).

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I'm thinking about buying some Bilsteins and Springs off of a 2007 SRT8. They have 40k on them, what do you think a fair price would be? These would fit my 05 WK no problem correct?

40K is pretty used...

I got my full set of Bilstien HDs shipped to my door for $300

You can find H&R's and Eibach wk's new for about $250 online, and SRT coils are about $325 for a set on J4J.

I'd offer $100 to 125 for the springs. As for the shocks, due to there milage, they may still be good or they maybe really abused, but I'd offer $125 to 150, assuming they are in good condition and the OEM SRT SHOCKS. When buying used parts, they can be a good deal or risky deal. Double check your part numbers and Buyer beware... You'll have to use your judgement and try not to get to excited. I've been saving my pennies since June to buy new parts for my jeep come this Xmas.

Anyone have pics of the BC coil overs? or H&R's?
Courtesy of H&R springs website.

Dead or Inactive Coils: Coils, which are in contact with adjacent coils at loaded height. Inactive coils do nothing but give the spring enough free length to stay tight in the spring perches at full rebound.

I have not lowered my jeep yet, but I've done a lot of reading while I save my pennies. Most of the guys who bottom out, have the extreme drop springs: Srt8 eibach, bwoody or roadmagnets. These springs look the best, but have less travel. OEM srt8, wk eibach and h&r users don't seem to have these complaints. Some of the guys who do bottom out with the extreme drop springs use QA1 stage 6 rear shocks which are adjustable to help with that issue (along with srt8 bilsteins up front).

Which brings me to my question of the day? since the qa1's are adjustable and the fronts are not, while making the rear stiff would be great for staight lines, like drag racing, wouldn't running the rear at a higher dampening rate (stiffer) make the car unbalanced in the corners, producing a higher risk for under or over steer conditions, especially in slippery conditions like water, oil or sand that is unexpected in a corner? I ask, because after riding a motorcycle for a few years you realize that the realworld is nothing like a track, full of dips and slips. Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Answer to myself: An adjustable performance device is probably fine if adjusted and used correctly. Anything can be used wrong or carelessly and increases risk.
