Ya, upgrade. As in improved or superior. I'm glad you agree too.

The wk bilsteins are an upgraded OEM replacement for your stock shocks. The SRT8 shocks are the stiffer ones and expensive. I was going to buy H&R's, which I found online for $220+S/H, but then had some used SRT coils drop in my lap for $60. Read the whole thread and search for other threads. There is a ton of information here if you have the patience (and your significant other doesn't mind you trolling the internet for endless hours) to look for it.
I have butt dyno'ed the SRT many times, since I work at a dealership and I've decided to go with the Bwoody's and WK Bilsteins, as of right now I can't justify the SRT bilstiens seing as how with my employee pricing they are just as much as the WK bilsteins and bwoody springs combined.

So now that I've made my decision is made, Will the 1.7" rear drop level it out were the 1.3" would keep some a little bit of rake?

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Hi guys,

I bought my WK Blisteins yesterday and they should arrive by this Saturday, by the way I am changing the set of 4.

I have a doubt to share with you, what brand of mounts should I get?

KYB SM5511 Strut Mount Kit: ----> KYB SM5511 Strut Mount Kit - Requires two per vehicle. : Amazon.com : Automotive

Monroe 905922 Strut-Mate Strut Mounting Kit: ----> Amazon.com: Monroe 905922 Strut-Mate Strut Mounting Kit: Automotive

or should I go for the Mopar part: ----> 52089328AC / 52089328AB

I've got a JGC Limited 2007 5.7L HEMI 96,000 miles on it.

Thank you guys.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

being as i have the OE monroe load levelers in the rear, and am looking to take the jeep back to a somewhat stock ride height. im wondering if the SRT bilsteins would work with a 1" lift in the front or should i look at the bilstein HDs? i had the bilstein HDs in the rear and broke one so i swapped to the monroes. i have the bilstein HDs in the front- but im adding hemi coils and a strut spacer to the front to gain alittle height over stock. so i didnt know if the SRT bilsteins would be an option for the front?

This sounds like a bad idea. I highly doubt that they are compatible. If you look around on the forums you can find srt springs for about $100 average. Sometimes you have to wait. I waited 3 months before I found a set. Then after that I found 5 more! You just have to wait for someone to go to bwoody's. Just keep an eye on the FS colums and watch the srt8 cherokee website too.

Which one goes on the left and which one goes on the right? They look the same to me, but I know one is drivers side and the other is passenger side. Thanks.
Bump anyone??? Somebody must know or can go out and look at the little tag on their srt8 coils. Thanks!

I contacted J4J and they said if I buy coils they will label them. I didn't want to tell them I have a used set.

It looks like there isnt any travel allowed between the front strut and the bumpstop...its very tight. after im done typing this i will go get some pictures to post. Does anyone have any pictures of the same set up im talking about for comparison? heres what ive got for measurements before an after, keep in mind i have a 2wd and a tow package:

before After

Front left- 18.5" 17.75"
front right- 18.5" 17.50"

Rear left- 19.50" 17.50"
Rear right- 19.50" 17.50"
(measured from center of axle to top of wheel well)

So it looks like I gained a 1" drop in the front and 2" in the rear. I got the bwoodys from modern horsepower. The package came marked as bwoody/roadmagnet and came with the upgraded bumpstops for the rear. I have an email into mhp to see which version these are and the advertised drop.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Quote:
ESCAPE: Ride is awesome and it looks a lot better too now!

Stock height with towing package (measured from hub center to fender)
Front: 18.5
Rear: 19.5

Lowered height with SRT8 version 2 Roadmagnets, SRT8 Bilsteins (measured from hub center to fender)
Front: 17
Rear: 17 1/4

Only drove it for an hour or so after the drop so she should settle in a bit more.
So I lowered my jeep today. 2wd with tow package. I used SRT coils and SRT bilsteins. I only dropped 1/4" all around. I thought this was weird, until I read up and saw that guys with SRT bilsteins and bwoody's/road magnets only dropped an 1" in front and 2" in the rear. So maybe this is normal. Maybe the SRT8 Jeep is only 1/4" shorter than a wk??? Then these number make sense.

EDIT1: I remeasured this morning. 1/4" drop in the front, 1/2" drop in the rear. What I need is someone to measure a stock height SRT8 Jeep and post the results here.
EDIT2: I also want to see measurements for Stock v8 wk's 2wd with tow packages. I want to compare both SRT8 stock jeeps to regular 2wd wk's. Thanks.
EDIT3: I have asked around and it seems that a stock SRT8 measurements are roughly 32" front and back. So my drop is good. The old shocks/coils were just sagging.

After Lowering mine.
Front:
From center of wheel to Fender: 18.5"
From ground to Fender: 32.0"
Rear:
From ctr of wheel to Fender: N/A
From ground to Fender: 32.25"

Thanks.
