Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Hello All,
Need some help, want to order a front srt stabilizer but when I use the part number on different sites to the bar is for a jeep commander did they start putting srt front bar on jeep commanders? Is this the right bar to use , my jeep is a 05 Wk. I need to change front shocks will the srt ones fit with my wk eibach lowering spring.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Wow. Read all ALL 70 pages in this thread (awesome/best thread ever). Now I have a problem. I see no $$ in my bank acct in the very near future. Why? Well thanks goes to Scott I have to buy all kinds of goodies for my 05 wk. So a big thanks to you and now my wife is PISSED!! (Well..... I have her convinced that my shocks and springs are shot and need replaced)

Ordering SRT front and rear sway bars, brackets and bushings.
SRT shocks/struts
Eibach wk springs

Also told the wife I need some new tires (which I do) but going with SRT reps and plan on some winter tires for the stockers.

Good plan?

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Read all 70 pages of this and now I'm more confused than ever (and virtually broke and I haven't ordered anything yet, but spent it all in my head). LOL.

So, I know I'm going the following:
SRT Takeoff Swapbars

The things I'm not sure of:
WK Bilstein HD + SRT Takeoff Springs
WK Bilstein HD + WK Eibach
WK Bilstein HD + SRT Eibach Springs
WK Bilstein HD + SRT BWoody Springs

These will be going in an 05 WK LTD Hemi w/130k miles (tires are pretty much shot so that will affect readings below).

Front - 31 7/8"
Rear - 32 1/4"

I'd like to get about 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" drop from the 31 7/8 measurement while leveling out the rear to be the same as the front.

What does everyone suggest?

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I'm leaning towards WK Bilstein HD + SRT Eibach Springs.

I was initially worried about the bouncing condition in the rear that I read about, but there looks to be a fix for that (which I assume is us just cutting down our rear bump stops 1/2").

Is my statement above about the fix, correct?
Also, anyone with this combination that can comment on how it rides would be greatly appreciated.

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Hey guys,
I got 05 Wk with srt shocks and wk eibach springs with sway bar best way to go. I just added the srt shock this month makes the best way to stop the bouncing. Srt shocks cost a lot, if you go with HD Bilstein get the srt eibach springs a little lower because the hd shocks will raise the height a little. I would buy new parts springs the cost of install and putting on old parts is not worth it. Good Luck

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

OK....Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I have an 07 gc limited. I live in Pittsburgh, the roads are garbage. I want a slightly more aggressive stance as well as improved handling. I am thinking Bilstein on all four corners (hd), SRT sway bars(front and rear), and eibach srt springs. I don't want an extreme drop, just a cleaner more aggressive stance.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 07 gc in 6cyl. Will the eibachs or h&r lower me less in the front because of less engine weight?

I'm in south central PA myself and this winter really killed the local roads. Pot holes everywhere- so I know what you mean. I have SRT take-out springs with Monroe Reflex shocks/struts which I like. I stayed away from the HD Bilstein because I read they can be harsh/stiff and they raise the car 3/8" I think. I would stay with the SRT sways- good choice IMO. I went with ADDCO and have some fitment issues plus they are way more stiff than factory SRT which makes the ride harsher too.

Thanks for the info... what kind of a drop did you get from the srt takeoffs?

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Went with the Bilstein HD (4600) struts/shocks for the WK & the Eibach Pro-Kit Springs for the SRT8. Ride is firmer but definitely manageable, and the handling is great now.

Scottina06, I have a question as I seen you mention a brace somewhere about 30-40 pages back from 2012 (lol, yes, I read all of this thread).

Are you referring to the Strut Brace Bar on the WK? Also, I noticed the WK's has a flattened top where the SRT8 is round. Is there any other difference between the two, or even an advantage in putting an SRT8 one on the WK (will it even fit, or is the flattened area for clearance??)?
