Re: The "Mini" Lift

Not changing the tire size, as I think it looks great with the small lift and the factory 245/60/18's. Also that eliminates having to get a programer for the change in tire size, which saves some money. I still get 21mpg on regular gas in warm weather on the highway, 16 in town. E85 gets me 13 in town and 17.8 on the highway, all readings off the EVIC, which has shown to be farely accurate. I lost about four tenths of a mile per gallon post "lift" so far on the highway, no loss in city mileage. This I attribute to the factory engineering that went into the WK's aero profile is so dialed in at the factory height that any small change will upset it, thus even a small lift showed some mileage loss. No towing yet, as I am getting ready to leave on another tour so I ran out of time to install the factory hitch, factory trailer wiring and the factory trailer brake controller. I did manage to install the factory auxiliary cooling fan for the tow package, and it works fantastic The ride is still awsome I don't really go offroad, so I can not comment on how this all effected flex and travel. I will say I can run balls out into the local McDonald's steep entrance ramp and not scrape my lower fasica anymore I also just got my "Up Country Suspension" badges from Nathan on here to complete the "look". Will post pics when I get them on

Re: The "Mini" Lift

Just wanted to give an update as I have put another 4000 miles on the "Mini Lift", and did another remeasure. Again, full tank of fuel on level ground. Front Fascia at the center from the bottom to the pavement is still 13 inches. Front Passenger side is still at 34" as measured from the pavement centered on the wheel to the bottom of the fender lip. Front Drivers side is still at 33.75" and a hair. Rear Drivers side is still at 34.50 inches and a hair. Rear Passengers side is still at 35 inches. Looks like all the settleing has stopped, as I have drove the living daylights outta my WK the past month and a half. Still rides fantastic, and still no noises or anything making wierd sounds over bumps and harsh terrian. On a side note, some have asked me about the "Up Country Badges" that Nathan made for me on here. Yes, I have them, and yes, they are absoultely fantastic. Great quality and look like factory. However, I have still not put them on, and don't know if I will now. I am leaving soon so it may have to wait till I return. I also am on the fence about putting them on as I think the my WK would need a little more lift to do the badge justice.

Re: The "Mini" Lift

If i were wanting to get a similar look but wasting wanting to risk everything not turning out the way yours did, what size lift would you recommend, and still be able to keep stock rims and tire size??

Re: The "Mini" Lift

The Rock Krawler Lift. It is just a simple lower clevis swap in the front and a poly spacer in the back. From what I gather it does not look that bad with stock tires and wheels either.

Re: The "Mini" Lift

I understand I feel this is a great way to get a little "stance", but with factory capability. You really need one of the BB or the Superlift to really wheel the WK to get the sheet metal outta harms way

even the BB doesnt get the pinch welds out the way fully. have to do them regardless with either lift. i have yet to do them, but will need to if i do decide to install the OME lift sitting in my basement and run 33s
