Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

i agree ^^ the RC is a super budget lift... the OME MD lift is the best bang for the buck but you will be dropping a little more coin... although still relatively cheap for a good solid lift.

I would like to go OME MD but that would require I change out my shocks and struts, would it not? I recently changed out my shocks and was going to replace the struts when I do the lift. Looks like i would have to buy new shocks and struts on top of the front and rear coils.

thats essencially where the lift comes from... the coils, shocks/struts. So yeah, all that would have to be replaced. you could try selling the shocks you just purchased on here to recoup some of your $

Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

Ya the OME kit is more than I care to spend at this time. I think the RC lift will do me just fine as it is. Not intending to do any agressive off road with my 3.7.

You can't go wrong with the RC lift. It's built strong with a low cost. I view it as money well spent.

Are you still using factory (oem) springs? Bilstein HD's and RC lift is what I intend to do, but are there different springs we can use or is my choice pretty much the springs I have now?

Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

With the RC Lift I am going to be replacing my front struts at the same time. My jeep is at 40K right now so it still has low mileage for the year I would say. Would you think I would need to look into anything else such as strunt mount plates or spring insolators?
I hope to contribute to this thread with some pictures of my own in the next couple of weeks.

If you want to replace your coils too, then your best bet is the full OME kit. You will get more down travel out of the rear shocks too. If you are dead set on running the Bilsteins though, you can also look into Rusty's coils.

Thanks for the input. I would like to stick with the Bilsteins.
Those Rusty's coils seem to be about the same length as the OME. Wouldn't I have issues running the Bilstein's with those as well?

thats all you need... the RC lift and those bilsteins all around, thats the exact same set up im running and its awesome. Also, depending on what tire size you run, you will probably need at least a 1" spacer behind each of your rims so your tires dont hit that annoying bolt... im running 1.5" spidertraxx. Some guys have cut the bottom of that bolt so they dont have to run those spacers but thats not really recommended.

i agree... if you're going to replace the coils as well, you might as well just go with the OME kit... at that point you will probably be spending the same amount of $$.
