Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

Thanks. I was looking at fog lights but I was trying to decide if I should go with factory or mount some PIAA 510's down there. I am of course open to suggestions.

Thanks. Is there a considerable wattage difference between leaving them factory as opposed to converting to HID? What about heat output? I know the Halogens give off a lot of heat and I sort of recall others stating that HIDs are really hot. And what should I spend on a HID conversion kit?

There is difference, but I am not too sure the numbers. Check out our vendor Xenon Depot, and they'll answer all your tech questions.

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f60/

I have the HIDs and they heat up, but the factory fog housing lens is glass and I have never ever had a problem w them. I LOVE my HIDs. I have the 3000k temp color (yellow) best for "weather"

I def recommend the HIDs for fogs, you'll love em, promise!

Same here! I have been running a 3000k HID kit in my factory fogs for years now and love them.

Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

I searched the forums a third time I found the info I needed. Looks like H10 bulbs for 07? Or maybe that is just 05 and 06... Not sure if there is a difference in fogs.

Not sure if there is a difference, but I have H10 for mine. I am using a 55w kit I found on eBay for $40.

Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

How much better ride quality is the OME vs a RC lift? I currently have the Rock Krawler lift on my car now, but the ride quality sucks. I was going to replace the shocks and springs/spring spacer in the rear with the OME shocks/springs. Has anyone done that? How much am i looking to improve the ride quality with that??

My WK is also a 09' & looking into whichever lift is most compatible with ESP, etc. Read a few reviews that ESP & other computer malfunctions happen all the time & are very costly after the fact. Just wanna know what lift u went with & if you've had problems since?, how it handles on-road vs. off-road?, etc... & if you had to do it all over again what would u do differently?

Appreciate your help!

Thanks
Itching to lift soon
Superlift (4"), which came with the EGR Module. I love it. With upgraded sway bars and Bilstein front struts, it handles better now than it did stock. If I could do it over again, there isn't a thing I'd do differently, well, I'd paint the knuckles prior to installation. But no, it's great overall. That's why I went with the Superlift, so I wouldn't have to do anything over.

I learned about the lift "bug" with my WJ. You lift it a little, thinking you'll be set for good, but it isn't long before you want to go higher. So for the WK, I went with the biggest/best right off the bat.

The only time I ever have an issue with ESP is if after driving, I stop (shut the engine off) for a few minutes, like to get something quick from the store. When I start it back up, sometimes the ESP (and another light, i forget which) comes on until I shut it back off.

YES! Same here. I thought about it before my install, but figured there was a reason why the machined surfaces weren't painted. Now I know better! I want to go back and paint them, but that is a lot of work and then I would need another alingment, just to have them painted. Maybe if I lived somewhere besides sunny dry Cali!
