Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

damn. that looks awesome! you should get something to use as a centercap for those wheels. (I would go nothing as opposed to those stars too, so good call on that) haha

Since the topic of shocks was brought up relatively recently, what options are there for rear shocks on a 4" lifted WK?
My 1 year old Bilsteins produce a sucking sound in cold weather. It's driving me nuts because I the Bilsteins replaced the previous shocks that did the same damned thing!

Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

I really strongly considered some of the Fox shocks but my mechanic buddy talked me out of it. Mine will get the job done. Of course, I haven't ever had the sucking sound and if I do end up replacing these, it will be with the Fox res. shocks.

Thanks for the link, I don't know how I missed that in my search last night. I may try the Fox non-res shocks.

I have been using a set of custom valved Fox shocks for a couple years now and I love them. I picked up a set of used 11" travel remote reso shocks off ebay for cheap, then had a local shop revalve them to my Jeep's specs. The 11" extend out to 28" so they are a replacement for the crappy SL shocks. Or you can get the 12" that extend to 31" to get a little more down travel. That's what I plan on doing soon. Either way they are awesome shocks! The big reasons I went with them are 1. To get the perfect valving of my choice 2. The are completely rebuildable and every peice can be replaced if need be. That means they will be the last shocks you will ever have to buy unless you want a differant size 3. Also because you can beat the crap out of them and they will just ask for more

I'll take your 11" when you upgrade if you want to let them go

I think this may be my favorite setup. Big clearance upgrades and looks like an upgraded factory mopar kit or something!
