Tire circumference mismatch on same axle
I just had a tire on the rear axle warrantied out due to a nail to close to the sidewall. I've been running Goodyear Fortera Silent Armor 245 65 17's on all four corners for years. The current set has 35,000 miles on them with tread depths ranging 6 to 7/32's. The spec on these tires new was 12/32's.
Goodyear no longer produces the Fortera Silent Armor version, and now only the Fortera HL and Tripletread are available. The shop replaced my defective tire under warranty with the Fortera HL (same size), the spec on the Tread depth for this model (HL) is 10/32nd's new.
Question -- with the difference side to side on the same axle (currently on the rear axle) of between 3 to 4/ 32nd's is this going to cause a problem with the performance of the electronics or mechanical problems on that axle?
Additionally, if I replace the tire on the other side of the rear axle with a new Fortera is there any issues with then having tires on rear now at 10/32nd's tread depth and tires on the front axle at 6 or 7/32nds?
