Tire options on my JK wheels for my WK

I have an '07 WK. I plan on grinding the calipers to fit the JK wheels which I picked up in mint shape $300 for 5. No tires though.

I have a chance to pick up (4) LT265/70/17 BF Goodrich All Terrain KO TA's for $900. (What does the "LT" in LT265/70/17 stand for?) All I could find was "long trail" is that right...what does that mean?

or

I can get (5) 255/75/17's BF Goodrich All Terrain KO TA's for. $750.

I prefer the wider tires and am leaning towards the 265's. The cost is not too big a factor.

I am looking for the best value.

Any other recommendations for tires and sizes? I had also considered the Nitto Trail Grapplers, but are they any better or just comparable?

Thanks for all the help.

idk maybe its just me but i would never grind something down that helps you stop ..

if your going with a tire that large, either way your going to need a wheel spacer... i believe lt stands for light truck ? but i could be wrong... and i really like the bfg 265/70/17 as long as you are lifted ... its going to be tough to squeeze a tire that big on a stock lift

Yes Got an OME HD lift kit and front strut spacers on the way. Just getting the pieces ready to put together. The caliper shave is very minor and only cosmetic from what ive heard.
