Tire Size

I have been interested in getting new tires soon and wanted to know the largest size tire i can fit on my 05 wk laredo. I would like 255's and willing to buy wheel spacer if needed or 2" lift if i can. Still up for debate....

Re: Tire Size

I have a 05 WK and I have 265's with a 2" lift. They fit just fine but in the front the tires rubbed a little bit when turning so I just screwed the plastic molding in so it wouldn't rub.

Re: Tire Size

My 255/70r17's rub the frame at full lock. It is very slight, just enough to remove some paint. I put on 1.5" spacers and they rub on the wheel liner now ( instead of frame ). Again, nothing bad just an annoyance. With the pinch weld mod there will be no rubbing. I believe the 1.25" spacers will not rub the liner. I have seen members here who run 255/ 70's without a lift. But without diff. offset rims or spacers there will be minor rubbing.

Re: Tire Size

265/65/17s fit really nicely on the stock w/o 99% of tires in that size wont rub but a very close to the bolt. Mine did not rub at all. They looked great and barely effected the mpgs.

FYI, I took them off thinking that my MPGs went down because of the extra 1" of tire diameter and went back to these crappy michelin tires i got from work for free and after 3 to 4 months back on the stock tire size my MPGs are exactly the same and i am kicking myself super hard for giving up the awesome looking 265/65/17s i had. They were Peerless Wide Trac Baja tires which are a private label of the Firestone Destination at.
