I mainly did it for the ball joint angle. I actually wouldnt mind a little negative camber. It's sitting at 0 camber now.

I honestly can't really notice a difference in ride over the stock UCA's, so it's riding just great for me! I wanted to fix the poor angle on the ball joint and the extra beef will be helpful as I do more wheeling.

Re: Upper Control Arms from Rocky Road Outfitters

Hey Verminator,

I hope you dont mine me reviving this thread. I am in between going for the RRO UCA and the JBA ones. I have a 2" RC BB with Bilsteins. The problem faced is as shown earlier in this thread where the JBA would allow the lower shock plate to hit the knuckle. At max extension (lifted on hoist), I get the stock UCA hitting its own mounting bracket at the front, and the shock plate hitting the knuckle as shown here in red arrows:

So, if the JBAs are shorter than stock, I would expect this issue to even get worse as opposed to corrected .. The intention is also to get some heavier duty joint for wheeling, but I also want to correct the issue in the image above. from this thread it seems the RRO is a better option for me ? did you have this issue too before you installed the RRO JBA ?

Much appreciated!

Re: Upper Control Arms from Rocky Road Outfitters

JBA has recently changed their design so the knuckle doesn't hit. IMO, JBA is the better of the two. I heard the RRO one uses KJ Liberty ball joints whereas the the JBA one uses Hummer H2 (I think) ball joints.

Re: Upper Control Arms from Rocky Road Outfitters

As jjt250 said, JBA has redesigned the control arms and last I heard someone on another forum was testing them. They may already be in production. The JBA seems beefier, I'm happy with mine. I bolted the ball joints on the underside which helped a little with the clearance, there new ones should be fine.

Thanks for the feedback, JBA it is then!

Their website stated the latest redesign was released Jan 2013. Also, no mention of sensor brackets fir headlights on RRO website.

Re: Upper Control Arms from Rocky Road Outfitters

The ball joint are the same between the two, the difference is the bushing size. RRO uses smaller bushings, however there have been guys beating the RRO arms from the beginning with zero issues. Now that JBA has finally corrected the length of their arms (to the size of the RRO arms) you won't have the knuckle contact issue with either set. So the biggest difference between the 2 right now is the price!

Thanks Nat, i think i will go for the JBA option as seems like a safer bet for international shipping & returns etc. will place the order when i return from Santorini, Greece

Well JBA makes a set specifically for lowered WKs(SRT) so that would be your best bet.

Re: Upper Control Arms from Rocky Road Outfitters

Installed. Great product, handling seems improved and got rid of that stupid clunk noise when going over speed bumps (suspension no longer hits wheel knuckle).
