Urgent! NEED HELP!

I just had a set of 255/70R17 G/Y Wrangler Silent Armors mounted, however the bolt is rubbing the sidewall tred. After about 2 hours of research it looks like cutting the bolts is the easiest solution. Can anyone give me instructions on how they cut theirs? (its seems like a fairly common mod)

I'm trying to avoid getting a lift, but I do have the Bilstein HDs which raise it 3/8"

i think ur gonna need to do more then cut the bolt chief... looks like ur gonna have to cut into the nut... sketchy... need a real small wheel spacer

What tire shop let you drive off like this???

You need to take it back and demand new tires, then get the lift. So you'll have new tires

Ps: could you post a side shot of your jeep? I'm considering getting the same style tires.

I'm running 245-70-17 gy silent armors on stock wheels with no problems, i'm even lowered . However, a lift/drop wont effect clearence to the bolt as the knuckle is one piece. The 255 is only 1/2" taller and maybe1/2" wider then the 245's but there's not much room down there.

i would not cut the bolt thats asking for more problems later on down the road they have spacer kits that work great. i had one on my first jeep to clear the wheel well spacers you can take off you cant put the bolt back

Every one cuts the bolt. I cut the bolt. I'd rather cut the bolt than use spacers. I have 255/75/17 and no problem.

Spacers are asking for "trouble" down the road.

My cousin was a very skilled mechanic for years.

On his way to work one morning, one of his spacers on the front failed, the wheel came off, he hit a school bus just before he rolled in a ditch and burned alive in the car.

They were quality purchased, properly installed, and torqued.

Not to dis' your cousin, but 'regularly checked' is often overlooked for lugnuts. My old XJ was notorious for having them come loose. And that was with factory equipment. More than once someone would flag me down and tell me I was about to lose a wheel.
