Verdict On Spacers (good or bad?)

What's the consensus on spacers around here? I had 1.5" Rough Country spacers on my WK but I broke a bolt and vowed to never use a spacer again. Only reason the bolt was found was during a tire rotation, which scares the crap out of me. I'd like to get my tires moved away from the bolt and get a wider clearance.

Is there a better brand that should be used or is is just unsafe no matter what?

Crestwood1001 is an unknown quantity at this point
Spider trax is the way to go, but you HAVE to torque then to correct specs you can't just have a mechanic go to town on them with an air gun!

Re: Verdict On Spacers (good or bad?)

I think it should be done properly.

Instead of spacers get the correct offset rim.

I agree but new rims are expensive and spacers are fairly cheap. If you are going to run spacers they should be Spidertrax. Best spacers made. Personally I wouldn't use any others.

Re: Verdict On Spacers (good or bad?)

After breaking a bolt on my rc spacers I couldn't put a price on safety. Although the spidertrax look good.

Re: Verdict On Spacers (good or bad?)

What offset would the rim be to add a wider stance to your WK? I have been torn between getting aftermarket rims or a set of MOABs.

Re: Verdict On Spacers (good or bad?)

Does anybody know what brand spacers Jeepin' By Al sells with the OME lift? I know they are the same blue color as the spidetrax but wondered if they WERE spidertrax or just made to look like them? Any identifying markings on the spidertrax?
