I have SRT8 take-off springs that I'm installing this weekend. They all have different part numbers. I know which two are front and which two are rear. But I don't know which spring goes on driver side vs passenger side. They have different part numbers for some reason- maybe different spring rate to carry weight of driver/gas tank vs passenger side? I checked the WK parts manual and it doesn't tell which p/n goes on which side either. I would like to get this right the first time. Anybody know or could check your stock ride please?

REAR SPRINGS:
5290638AA is for ???

5290773AA is for ???

FRONT SPRINGS- according to Just4Jeeps
5290629AB is for Left (Driver)

5290771AB is for Right (Pass.)

Anyone? I don't want to assume Just4Jeeps is correct and extrapolate the lower p/n's are for Left (driver) side at the rear. I would like confirmation if possible.

when you go I to install them...the spring that fits in the left or right side is the only one that will orient right in the spring seat. Youll see what I mean when you go to uninstall and install

I would agree this is the case for the front springs because they are wound in opposite directions so the pigtail will only fit properly with the seat on the correct side. However, the rear springs are wound the same direction, have the same height (close as I can tell) but have different part numbers for whatever reason. I suppose the only way to know for sure would be if someone looked at their stock SRT8 and noted which spring p/n was on which side.

been awhile since Ive had a WK...so Im trying to recall. Seems like the rear springs are the same
Scott, I understand and do appreciate the help. And you may be right, that they are both the same. But if that were the case then I would expect them to have the same exact part number. In the world of manufacturing that I work in, different part numbers for like parts indicate slightly different applications (like left, right).

All I have to go on right now is the Just4Jeeps info for the front springs so I'm going to apply the same logic to the rears, using the lower p/n on Left (driver) side. That's all I can do in the absense of additional information.

I confirmed the correct spring locations through Milous.

REAR SPRINGS:
5290638AA is for Left (Driver)

5290773AA is for Right (Pass.)

FRONT SPRINGS:
5290629AB is for Left (Driver)

5290771AB is for Right (Pass.)
