Wk ome...tires???

I'm set on the OME lift and have figured the Mamba MR1 will fit a 265 70 17 without any spacers. Right now its a toss up on tires...Falken Wild Peak or Goodyear Duratrac? Both seem like a good deal but any input would be welcome.

Welcome! Duratracs seem to have the edge around here.

Re: Wk ome...tires???

Welcome! The duratracs are a great tire but pretty expensive. The falken's are def the cheeper buy, and from what I hear still a great tire. one more option are the Kelly safari tires. Pretty much the same tire as the duratrac ( made by goodyear) but less expensive.

Have you seen the new Michilein LTX AT/2 tire? That tire seems the best thing going for the WK if you have the funds.

Best for what? It doesn't look like it would do well off-road.

To the OP, I would say Wild Peaks for mostly on-road but still 'good' off-road. And DuraTracs for more of a off-road daily driver. Or if you just want the more aggressive look and don't mind a little more road noise the GYs are great. The GYs do get louder as they wear.

Re: Wk ome...tires???

Since Michielin makes BF Goodrich's tires they took all the R&D from that tomake a tire for the upscale consumer that would want the performance of their All Terrain tire, but with a better ride and longer lasting mileage.

Re: Wk ome...tires???

falkens are becoming more and more popular on JKs, and after watching a few of their videos and reading reviews of guys running them on their JKs that they take EVERYWHERE- im sold. between them and the new bfg rugged terrain, its a toughie. my current silent armors are in great shape- but i may sell em for a set of falkens.

yea duratracs have the egde due to their offroad/onroad ability and weight for the size you get- but the falkens arent that heavy and the bfgs are actually lighter than the duratracs.

Re: Wk ome...tires???

I have noticed the Falkens becomeing a trend too. I still will buy the Michleins if/when they every make that tire in a 245/60/18, but I would like to know who is making Falkens offroad tires? Is it another Cooper? Kelly? Goodyear or??

Re: Wk ome...tires???

welcome...

im rock'n BFG AT KO 's... best all around tire in my opinion however a little pricey.

between the two, i'd say go Goodyear Duratrac!
