12 volts everywhere...

Hi guys!

to I ve just instaled my new radio Pioneer Appradio... very bad but i bought it for $130...

So I cut the connector from the factory radio and I found on the 2 wires RED/ORANGE 12v even without the key and even on ON or ACC and my wonderful Appradio don't have a switch to stop him so I will be obliged to put a little swittch on the dashbord and of course never forget to stop him.

How did it works with your Apline or else ?

Bye

Re: 12 volts everywhere...

Why did you cut the connector? Why not get an adapter harness? Since you hacked it already, you can get a switched power source from a power outlet in the dash.

Re: 12 volts everywhere...

Hello, yes I did, I cut and weld directly the wires on

But now it's work, I took the power outlet. But really don't know why.

PLEASE, don't buy the Pioneer APPRADIO

Re: 12 volts everywhere...

You will have the find ACC at the power outlet closest to the driver on the dash.

The Jeep radios turn on and off VIA the CANBUS system, which is a data system. There is no acc wire behind the radio.

Is that why I have an axxess box behind my radio connected to the harness?

Yes sir, that little box "understands" your CANBUS system and translates the signals over to the radio. The box typically depending on which model you purchased will do Retained ACC Power (RAP), parking brake, reverse signal and sometimes VSS (mainly GM vehicles)

Re: 12 volts everywhere...

Always wondered why i had a birds nest behind my headunit. When i first bought my car i didn't know much so i had it professionally installed. But that was 3 headunits ago lol. Its pretty hard to fit the double din in with all that lol
