2008 WK aftermarket backup camera Install

Im installing and Pioneer AVH-P3400BH in my 2008 WK Laredo as well as a BOYO VTL300 backup camera.

Any suggestions on the the best way to run a reverse trigger wire for the head unit?

Re: 2008 WK aftermarket backup camera Install

I have mine running from the top of the trunk near the lift gate grommet down the side of the trunk and then if you lift up the plastic piece by the latch clip you will see a few holes. These go directly to the bottom of your jeep then just run it over to one side of taillights then just splice it into the reverse positive wire. I also ended up running a wire from that to my head unit, telling it to go into camera mode whenever i reversed.

most likely the data harness that you'll need to install the radio will have a reverse output lead off it thats triggered via data.

i could be wrong though, havent replaced the radio in a jeep in a while at work.

I used a radio harness adapter that had both speed sense and reverse wire. piece of cake. works great.
