Ok, my wife and I just moved to Europe and we took our 2012 Grand Cherokee
Overland with us. So, we can find where we are going we updated the radio and the navigation system for Europe. Before this the turn by turn voice commands worked just fine when we had the car in the US, not so much anymore.
The crux of the matter has something to do with the power supply to the unit. If I turn on the ignition to the car, but don't start it, while the radio is on and then pull the fuse to interrupt the power supply to the unit, put it back after about 2 min and then get in the car and start it up, the turn by turn voice navigation works like a peach. However, once I turn the car off, the next time I start it up again, no turn by turn voice prompts, just a silent bleep is to be heard in place of the voice.
Does anyone have any information in regard to this, as I am tired of diving under the hood each time we need some directions? I would highly appreciate any help. The dealer here is stumped. Thanks!
