Re: Audio Uprade Sugestions?

And now I read that kicker speakers distort, what do you guys think of JL speaker? I took a ride in my friends wrangler and he has JL speakers and I really liked those especially the highs.
And should I run a 6 channel amp for my 6 speakers

Re: Audio Uprade Sugestions?

I would run
Alpine spr 60c
Alpine spr 69
dont worry about the 3.5s because you probaly wont hear them anyway.
Alpine pdx F4 Amp for highs
Alpine pdx M6 Amp for subs
2 SSA DCON 12s in a 3.5 cube ported box tuned around 30-32hz

Kicker KS60 (11KS60) 6s
2 Alpine type S 12" (I want to keep as much space as I can
Alpine Pdx amp for subs (600w rms or 1200w rms)
Kicker ZX650. 4 Amp for speakers
Anything else I need, of course wiring but how about Equalizers, capacitors, crossovers?
Sorry about all the mind changing, audio shopping is so hard to make decision. As the name of the form say suggestions, don't be shy to tell me I'm not making a good decision, I'd rather be told before I spend my money.
The head unit is great you will love it. If you wanted the 3.5s working you will need a 3 way crossover on the two front channels. Instead of a capacitor I would get a small kinetik battery. They work 1000 times better and will help with your car starting! As for kicker distorting all my door and dash speakers are kicker and I can turn them all the way up and they sound great no distorting at all. If you want to check all my equipment go to my build thread. You can get all my speakers since you are using the same amp. I love my setup

Re: Audio Uprade Sugestions?

I would stick with the pdx amp and use an audiopipe 3 way crossover. I love my 3.5s in the dash I have them set up as my mids and he sound quality is amazing. http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=36639

Re: Audio Uprade Sugestions?

You will have a power wire running from your positive terminal on your starter battery under the hood preferably 4 awg wire or bigger to your cargo area that wire would go to the positive side of the second battery. Then the negative of the second battery would go to your frame. The battery would then be correctly wired in parallel. Then your two amps would just connect to the negative and positive side of the second battery to get power. It's so worth it, I have a power inverter in the trunk because my area looses power a lot, so my car is like a generator except I don't have to start the car to make sure the battery won't die,

Having an extra battery helps take load off of the alternator from the amps drawing more power.

Re: Audio Uprade Sugestions?

Get a Toby subwoofer! They're located in Fort Worth.

Check em out, www.Toby.com

WELL worth it

My 10" Sheriff runs on 60wrms@4ohms/voice coil and SLAMS like my JL v2 12" did... And it ran at 500wrms@2ohms. No joke
I have it running off an alpine MRP-F300 speaker amp! and only use channels 1&2

Yes! Sounds unreal, but they slam! I believe they have a video of their 15" on the website, or try Youtubing Toby subwoofer
