Best wiring for my subwoofer?? Help

Just figured id buy a sub to enhance my listening experience.
I got:
an 07CVR124 12" Kicker sub (4 ohm, DVC)
and a Kenwood KAC-8104D class D mono amp for it
What would be the best way to wire this for maximum output? The sub is rated at 400RMS and 800 watt max. The amp is 1000 max and 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (500 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)
Thanks!

Perfect. Thanks.. anyone know where the best place to hide an amp is? Not a very bulky amp.

Re: Best wiring for my subwoofer?? Help

Under the rear cargo tray, my JL fit perfectly in there.

Re: Best wiring for my subwoofer?? Help

Since my under cargo is full, I put mine under the driver's seat. Haven't had any problems.

Re: Best wiring for my subwoofer?? Help

I wouldn't put it under the cargo tray IMO due to the heat an amplifier gives off and can overheat by being suffocated in that little spot.

And you need to be sure that your sub is 2 ohm stable

Re: Best wiring for my subwoofer?? Help

The sub is dual 4 ohm so it wires down to 2 ohms, which will be pefect for the amp.

What are you talking about?? His sub is designed to be wired down to 2ohm mono, hense the dual 4ohm voice coils. If anything you would have to worry about the amp not being stable at certain ohms. But 90% of the amps out there are stable at 2ohm mono.

My amp has been under that cargo compartment and has NEVER once in 4years over heated or come close to getting hot. JL makes a great amp

Re: Best wiring for my subwoofer?? Help

I missed the "DVC"

And I have an alpine and still wouldn't put mine in there, just my opinion. Mine can't get hot as hell just being on the side of my sub box. And it almost has a personal fan being next to the port hole lol
