Upgraded from a WJ to a WK2. In the WJ I had an single din older Pioneer with a Bluetooth adapter that I installed and loved it. I would get in my car and the Pioneer would connect to my iPhone and start playing my Pandora stations. After getting the new Jeep I was again forced to listen to garbage radio and non-stop commercial hell (I don't even know where my old case of CDs are). So I finally decided to upgrade the basic fm/am radio that came with my WK2 (430 I believe). I decided to go with the 2012 Pioneer AVH-P2400BT Double Din DVD Player with Bluetooth. Got in on Crutchfield for $319.99. Also picked up the PAC harness and AXXESS steering wheel controls. Lots of wiring. Also had to dremel out part of the inner dash. Just kept taking little off the top and bottom until I got it to fit.
Now i just get in the car and it automatically connects to my iPhone and plays my pandora stations. And since my iPhone is jailbroken, I have a tweak installed that lets me skip as many songs in Pandora as I want and no ads. Music lovers dream let me tell ya
.. especially on long trips.
Now on to my question. The installation is done and everyone works great, including the steering wheel controls which allow me to change songs on my phone from the wheel). My only concern is that it in the WJ I could control the brightness of the screen with the dimmer wheel. In the WK2 it seems when I turn on headlights it dims the screen automatically and I can't undim it. I admit at night I would rarely need to have full brightness while driving but I sometimes drive with the yellow (running?) lights on and could use the full brightness. Anyone know of any wire that I missed to let me do this?
Also, not shown in the pics below, the Pioneer color can be adjusted to match the light green of the interior lighting which makes it look pretty sweet.
