Re: Infinity Speakers upgrade...

Well, the install is done finally . Here are some pics below.

The doors where lined on the inside and outside panels using Dynamat Xtreme , then the inside panels where covered using 1/4" Dynaliner and the stock rubber inner door liners. The 3.5 " dash speakers form a small hump in the grilles, but you can hardly notice. The other speakers did not need spacers or mods. These pictures where taken using flash to show the speaker inside the grilles, but can not tell it is not stock by just looking at it.

IMO the sound has improved with the Infinity Speakers, bass is better, minds and highs are cleaner but not THAT much. I guess that if you really want a fine sound system, you have to bite the bullet and change the stock premium audio B.A. amplifier.

Great Joe. Joe did you have any problem putting back the door panel?... I just got my infinity reference speakers 6032cf and 9633cf, I just need to install them. I will let you know how they sound.

Re: Infinity Speakers upgrade...

Putting it back on was more complicated because of the Dynamat, it was difficult to get all the fasteners and the panel aligned on the door frame.

I recommend to get new fasteners because the original ones loose grip when you take them off, there are better quality generics.

Re: Infinity Speakers upgrade...

Try to be careful when popping off the door and you shouldn't need many new fasteners. I needed about 4 after I redid my whole system. I also ordered some off of ebay, but beware because they did not fit even though they supposedly were for the wk.

Re: Infinity Speakers upgrade...

That's awesome Chris I can't wait, but I'm doing some mods to the outside of the truck before winter. I think I'm going to break down, and at least put in the 3.5's for now.
