I notice a difference no matter what the source is, and balance is locked out when in surround mode.

Question - when it says to adjust the volume up and down, does it mean two "clicks" each way or two volume bars each way? Because each "click" is half of a volume bar.
Two clicks each way, right away.

Re: Kicker Amp Activation

Nope, didn't work after second try. Adjust volume up and down, balance still operates, no change in sound.

Does it matter what screen you are in when you adjust the volume?

Re: Kicker Amp Activation

Hey guys, I might have a resolution for this - waiting to get Jeep back from the dealer today to try it out.

Nope - I read somewhere that some vehicles could control the surround thru the EVIC, that this replaced the volume up/ down, but this was not the case with mine.

Is it possible we have a Kicker amp that is not a surround amp? I tried to get a pic of it (model) before I closed it all up, but the pic is blurry to where you can't read it. Guess I'll have to tear it open again.

Re: Kicker Amp Activation

Two clicks. Mine works every time on my 08 Laredo. It's quite an obvious difference. Had BA system before. Also have Mygig RER head unit I bought on eBay. Never tried the kicker system with original rec unit

The Kicker upgrade amp from Mopar and the factory Kicker amp both have surround sound. The systems are identical, the only differences being that the factory system will confirm "Surround" mode in the EVIC and the factory system has a slightly different EQ calibration.
