More Bass in Stereo ?

Hello,

Well....swapped the dash speakers for a set of Kickers and just did the driver doors (6x9) with a set of Boston Accoustics.

The system really sounds good now. Very clean, dynamic, fidelity, mids, highs and kinda low end.

But.....the system is really missing that "deep bass". I don't want to crank up my bass on my stock radio and blow the dash speakers. I currently run my bass at +2 to +4 maximum. The bass is a little snappy and boppy.

So....question. Other then installing a $2,000. component based system, is there any way to feed a bass speaker off the stock radio?

I still haven't changed the 6.5's in the back doors, do they make speakers that produce mostly bass that I could put in their?

Any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.

On a side note...these Boston Acccoustic SC95's are well rated and are 30-20kHz which means they should put out some low frequency bass.

I did find that the stock speakers I took out of the doors sounded a little deeper, although not as clean. I'm sure these BA's need some juice put to them to get the bass pumping.

But that's my problem. I have the stock radio. 4 channel and 6 speakers. It's not a component system.

So...because the rear doors don't have to worry about hitting the window (they only go down half way) can I install these 6.5" subwoofers in my rear doors. They seem to have wire connectors I could just attach to.
If they fit, would this concept of deep base work???
Check them out !!

Just use a line out converter connected to one of the speaker channels. Then get an aftermarket amp off of ebay, wiring kit and sub. Thats it. Very simple and inexpensive. The kicker sub kit can be complicated to install.

Again, read those instructions. Sound is tapped off of front door speaker and power pulled from battery and switched power. No component system needed.

Another thing that can boost your bass is to add a small kinetic battery right before it goes to the amplifier. This battery would be wired in parallel and will give your amp a good boost. When i installed mine i had to turn the gain WAY DOWN!. It also helps with starting your vehicle

I just wired in a switch to the remote wire (which is tapped to my ACC wire) so I have it turned off when starting the Jeep. Then flip the switch and voila, I haz bass! :D

Can't speak for you, but my headlights definitely don't dim when my sub hits...good grounding plus good clean power shouldn't be an issue for the Hemi alternator.
