MYGig RER Lockpick backup camera install

I have a 2005 WK with the RER unit and the lockpick from coastal tech. Has anyone installed a backup camera with this? I bought a backup camera from camera source and did the install, hooked up the correct wires to the lockpick and plugged in the RCA cable but the camera doesn't work... Any suggestions??

Also when i hooked up the back up camera the sound stopped working in the car and when I unhooked the camera wires the sound started working again

Thanks!!

I have lockpick air and remember seeing something about needing to enable rear camera in menu settings. Did you do that?

Yeah I made sure I put that setting on and the screen comes on that says watch your surroundings but screen is black.

It just sounds like your camera isn't on it's input. In settings you have 2nd camera enabled or factory camera input? Also see if you can test the camera by plugging in a separate small TV or something with video input. That way you can rule out camera not turned on

Re: MYGig RER Lockpick backup camera install

I have it plugged into the video output that is coming off the back of the lock pick which is labeled "Rear Camera" and go into the lockpick settings and click view video for the rear camera and get a black screen. I will try to find some sort of TV or something to see if I can get video.

Re: MYGig RER Lockpick backup camera install

'View video' probably isn't going to get you what you need. It really sounds like you have it in the wrong input. The RCA should plug directly into the lockpick box, not a pigtail, and sound should not be affected at all. I know I could be wrong, and I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but that's how it is on mine. I have an 05 with an RER and lockpick, and it's a pretty spiffy unit once it gets hooked up and is running. 0-60 timer is my fav part, haha.
