Re: new head unit and speakers
Going with OEM Nav, you may as well upgrade to a MyGig system for the amount of cash that you'll have to drop on it. If you're looking on the cheap, I remember seeing that some Chinese knock-off company was making a wannabe MyGig system that plugged right into our old systems and it was like $400.
As for speakers, I replaced my factory Boston system with the Boston SE series, and it's like a night and day difference, even from the "premium" OEM audio system. I couldn't be happier with them. Those I got on the cheap through sonicelectronix and had them beat the prices for several shady websites that I found.
The speakers cost me right around $200 if I remember correctly, and I did the full upgrade with 2 - 6x9's (3-way), 2 - 3.5" (2-way), and 2-6.5" (2-way). Remember that the factory system with the crossover makes having anything but a woofer in the doors useless, unless you want to put in a component system or rewire the crossovers...
